The Urban Craft Center Quilts For Haiti
The Urban Craft Center (UCC) in Santa Monica is putting together a series of collaborative quilts followed by a charity raffle to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake. All proceeds will be donated to Partners
In Health, a non-profit organization that has been providing much needed medical services and supplies in Haiti for more than 20 years.
Volunteers are needed to lend a hand in sewing these quilts to help this very important cause. “We really hope to see a lot of volunteers come out for this, quilting is such a fun way to raise money for people truly in need,” said Angharad Jones, owner of
The UCC.
The first was free drop-in group sewing night on February 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Another is on February 21, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. A raffle will be held at The Urban Craft Center on February 27 at 7 p.m.

Haiti Benefit at Trip in Santa Monica
What: An evening of music and art to benefit the victims of Haiti.
ArthurAutumn, a Los Angeles songwriter, wanted to help the people of Haiti and with the help of some friends and other kind people, he is putting on “Gimme Your Hands, Cause You’re Wonderful” (named after a David Bowie lyric). Donovan Lyman of Hollowbody Los Angeles Productions, has donated his time and effort for this evening as well. All proceeds will benefit Haiti, and will be sent to The American Red Cross & Doctors Without Borders.
There will be a silent auction with contributors such as Topo Ranch, a Venice based environmental clothing company and Bamboo Sk8 of San Diego. There will also be an original Dogtown photograph on display, plus sunglasses and products from Mosley Tribes and other art by Arthur Autumn.
