The Sri Lanka Foundation hosted Sri Lanka Day at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica on Saturday August 7. The event featured Sri Lankan food, culture, and music. The “Perahera”, a parade known as The Pagent of Lanka took place along the promenade and featured traditional Sri Lankan dancers, drummers, masked performers, flag bearers and a theatre elephant, paying honor to an ancient parade that occurs annually in Sri Lanka.
