Spouse/Children: Married, Kollyn Kanz

Neighborhood of Residence: North of Wilshire

Community Activities: Board Member, Santa Monica Red Cross

Candidate Statement: Like a lot of Santa Monicans, work is what brought me here 12 years ago. What has kept my wife Kollyn and me here are the people of Santa Monica. Through my involvement as a Board member of the Red Cross of Santa Monica, I’ve helped to prepare our city for disasters. I’ve seen firsthand the generosity of its citizenry in every day acts of kindness. Inspired by the examples of others, I want to contribute to keeping Santa Monica the special place it is. That is why I am running for City Council.

A lot of our issues we can’t solve by ourselves. We have to work with the City of Los Angeles, state and federal governments to jointly work on issues like traffic, homelessness, and our schools. I have 20 years experience working with companies and non-profits to solve complex problems. If elected I will do the same for Santa Monica. As a community we can make Santa Monica an even better place to live, raise a family or start a business.

I am proud to call Santa Monica my home. It would be honor and a privilege to represent you on the City Council.
