Man Attacks With A Bike Lock: APB: Lock Down

On Thursday, March 24, at 10:55 a.m. officers responded to the 2700 block of the beach regarding a report of a fight.

When they arrived at the scene the officers spoke with the victim, who told them that the suspect, and also a female had approached him. He stated that he was acquainted with the female. He said that they had requested that he come over to the parking lot, to which he had dutifully responded.

As this victim had approached the suspect’s vehicle, the suspect, a 61-year-old man of no fixed abode, had begun to argue with the victim about the accompanying female, and her new husband. This argument began as verbal altercation, however at some point during the debate, the suspect opened the trunk of his vehicle and removed a bicycle cable lock.

The suspect then proceeded to swing this bicycle cable lock at the victim, causing the victim to fall down to the ground. The suspect then hit the victim with the lock several times. Officers located the suspect, and he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $30,000.
