Once again and by the identical score from the previous day’s game, the Crossroads Roadrunners were soundly beaten by the Montclair Prep Mounties 9-1 on Thursday.
Scoring in every inning but the first and fifth, the Mounties managed twelve hits and nine runs, while the Roadrunners could only muster one run in the third inning on only six hits.
The Roadrunners struggled against the arm of Mounties’ pitcher Max Fried, who recorded nine strikeouts in the win.
Crossroads lone run came when Andres Leyva hit a sac fly to score Michael Rosen in the third.
Roadrunners play again next week on Tues. April 26 against second place Campbell Hall. Game time is 3:15 p.m. at Clover Park.
