At 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, officers went to the 2400 block of La Mesa Drive in response to a report of a burglary in which some clothing had been stolen. When the officers arrived at the scene they saw a man walking in the 2100 block of La Mesa Drive who appeared to be intoxicated. The man was wearing a woman’s coat, black athletic pants, and a pair of black sandals.
The officers spoke with the man in order to get to the bare bones of what happened, and he told them that earlier that day he had been in a park in Beverly Hills with some friends, but had ended up on La Mesa Drive, completely naked. He said he had no idea how he had arrived there naked, but in an attempt to find some clothing, he entered an open window in a residence and streaked away when he heard some noise. He then stripped another residence of a pair of sandals that he found in the back yard, and the coat and pants that he was wearing he took from an unlocked vehicle parked nearby. The 19-year-old man was charged with attempted residential burglary and possession of stolen property. His bail was set at $50,000.
