High schools in Santa Monica had various athletes in the spring sports receive CIF postseason honors on Monday.
To add to their CIF championship, the Santa Monica High School (SaMoHi) Vikings cleaned house with five mentions in the All-CIF. Coach Liane Sato won CIF Division Four Coach of the Year and senior outside hitter Charles Levy was the division’s player of the year.
The CIF also put middle blockers Dane Keckin, Julian Hess and Trevor Pye on the first team, and outsider hitter Taylor Moldo from Crossroads also was All-CIF.
In baseball, both the New Roads Jaguars and the Pacifica Christian Seawolves put in two pairs of players on the All-CIF in Division Seven. Catcher Blaise Dolcemaschio and shortstop Quinn Barbini of New Roads and Seawolves infielders/pitchers Kevin Hammer and Austin Cortina all made the first team. Jags pitcher/outfielder Anthony Carrillo made the All-CIF second team.
