Redmond O'Neal

Santa Monica police arrested Redmond O’Neal at around 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 2 in Santa Monica on a traffic violation, only to find he was in position of heroin and marijuana.

O’Neal, the son of famed actress Farrah Fawcett, was seen by a patrol officer arguing with someone at a gas station on the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard (near the I-10 Santa Monica Freeway entrance). This aroused the officer’s interest so he followed O’Neal as he jumped into his black 2010 Nissan Altima and sped off, blowing through a red turn signal in the process. After he was stopped, Santa Monica Police Department officer conducted a search and found heroin, along with marijuana in the vehicle.

This is not the first time for the troubled young actor to be caught with drugs, or a probation violation for that matter. O’Neal has been in and out of courthouses and rehabilitation centers over the last five years.

Sgt. Richard Lewis, the Santa Monica Police Department public information officer, said that O’Neal will be booked for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, red light (left turn arrow) violation and for the violation of his probation. He was taken to Santa Monica jail where he is being held without bail.
