405 Freeway To Close One Lane At A Time This Weekend For Reconstruction Work:

Residents and businesses in the vicinity of the Skirball Center Dr Bridge and the 405 Freeway are being alerted to upcoming reconstruction work on the northern half of the Skirball Bridge.

The contractor is anticipated to perform the concrete pour to form the deck on the bridge this Friday night, Sept 16.

This operation will require a full directional closure of the freeway in each direction on one night, weather permitting.

Only one direction of the I-405 freeway will be closed at one time, beginning with the closure of the southbound direction followed by the closure of the northbound direction.

Ramps within the freeway closure limits may close as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes may close as early as 10 p.m., leading up to the full directional freeway closure beginning at midnight.

This activity is anticipated to require the closure of Skirball Bridge between the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m on Saturday.

Detour maps are available at www.metro.net/I405.

Closure Location

Skirball Center Dr. Bridge

~ Southbound I-405 freeway from Burbank Blvd. to Getty Center Dr. (freeway lanes closures staring at 10 p.m.)

~ Northbound I-405 freeway from Getty Center Drive to Ventura Blvd.

Sepulveda Blvd. will remain open during the nights of this operation and will be used as a detour route.

~ Emergency access will be maintained on the bridge at all times.

~ Pedestrians will be rerouted to an area outside of the construction zone.

Please note that the work is weather permitting and subject to change.
