Actor Eric Braeden and director Joseph Sargent are expected to attend an American Cinematheque screening of “Colossus: The Forbin Project” at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica this evening at 7:30 p.m.
The classic, dystopian 70s sci-fi stars Braeden as Dr. Charles Forbin, a humane, thoughtful scientist chosen to oversee the U.S. government’s new computerized defense system.
It turns out the Russians have a super-brain of their own – and when the two computers start talking it’s the prelude to apocalypse in this superb, future-shock thriller from Sargent, director of original “The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three”.
The Aero Theatre is located at 1328 Montana Ave. General tickets are $11; students/seniors are $9; members $7.
