SMMUSD Seeks Malibu Representation On Citizens’ Comittee:

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is seeking Malibu residents for the Citizens’ Committee to examine the feasibility of an emergency funding measure and future capital improvement bond measure.

The charges of the committee are as follows:

~ Study the feasibility of an emergency funding measure

~ Study the feasibility of a bond measure

~ Study the viability of a progressive structure funding measure, one based on the size of the parcel

The committee will meet regularly during the 2011-12 school year.

Malibu residents who would like to serve on the committee need to complete an application, a link to which can be found at: http://www.smmusd.org/fiscal/ParcelTaxCommittee.html.

Completed applications can be emailed to swahrenbrock@smmusd.org, or faxed to 310.581.1138, or dropped off at the district office: 1651 16th Street, Santa Monica. Completed applications must be submitted to the Superintendent’s Office no later than Sept. 30, 2011.
