UCLA Health System’s Santa Monica Campus To Host Open Day This Sunday:

The Santa Monica Campus of UCLA Health System will hold an open day this Sunday

Visit the new Santa Monica Campus of UCLA Health System this Sunday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m during its Open Day.

Tours, health screenings and literature, children’s activities, musical entertainment, giveaways, refreshments, and photo opportunities with UCLA mascots Joe and Josephine Bruin will all be part of the afternoon.

The new hospital will house 266 inpatient beds in spacious, mostly private rooms that feature family space and sleeper chairs for rooming-in.

It also will feature Santa Monica’s only inpatient Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, as well as Santa Monica’s only ER specializing in emergency pediatric services.

Patients will have access to the latest medical technologies and clinical expertise in an environment designed to promote healing and well being for both patients and families.

More than 25 percent of the new campus will be devoted to green and open spaces.

The extensive rebuilding project features the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica; a branch of Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA; and the Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital.

It is located at 16th Street between Wilshire Boulevard and Arizona Avenue. Parking is available at 1311 16th Street.
