Leading Beatles historian and bon vivant Martin Lewis will host “The Beatles at Barnum,” the celebration of the music of The Beatles tonight, Oct. 21 at Barnum Hall at Santa Monica High School. A protégé of Beatles publicist Derek Taylor, Lewis will share anecdotes and stories for many of the songs performed, which include “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Got To Get You Into My Life,” and audience sing-a-longs of “Hey Jude,” “All You Need is Love” and others. “The Beatles at Barnum” is being presented by “Sir George’s Army” – the award-winning Santa Monica High School Symphony Orchestra, and features the rock band “Father Knows Best.” The performance includes full orchestral arrangements of Beatles favorites, audience sing-a-longs, and special guest vocalists and instrumental performers.

Celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos this Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. during “A Fishy Fest” at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Activities include a glow-in-the-dark bioluminescence presentation at 1:45 p.m. both days, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” at 2:45 p.m. both days, Dia de los Muertos crafts, marine animal graveyard, face painting, and more. Regular features will also include touch tanks with tide pool animals, naturalists’ presentations, more than 100 species of marine life on exhibit, and story time. Children under 13 free, adults suggested donation of $5 or $3 minimum admission fee. The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is located at 1600 Ocean Front Walk.
