Gourmet Dog Food Recipes Launched In Book At Santa Monica Event Today:

If your canine companion has been a bit peckish around the dog bowl lately, maybe it’s because there’s no gourmet chef preparing the meal.

Well sit up, roll over and beg for more, there’s now an answer to Fido’s culinary rut!

Throw away the kibble and the tin cans and open up “The Culinary Canine, Great Chefs Cook for Their Dogs – And so Can You!.”

The cookbook offers easy to prepare recipes from chefs across the country who regularly cook for their dogs.

A book launch party will be held in Santa Monica today, Nov. 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Upper West Restaurant.

East Coast Author Kathryn Levy Feldman will be signing copies with four local chefs who contributed recipes to the book, including Nick Shipp of Upper West and Gnocchi Restaurants, Keith Roberts of the Loews Hotel and Lila, Geraldine Gillilland of Lula Cocina Mexicana and Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, and Roberta Deen of Capers Catering.

And there will be a few four-legged friends pawing around including those lucky dogs belonging to the chefs.

CruVinDogs will be pouring wine. Profit from the winery goes to support various pet organizations. Security will be on a tight leash and Dr. Annie Harvilicz (of Animal Wellness Centers) will be available to offer advice on cooking for your dog.

There will be people food prepared by the chefs as well, but no wine in the dog bowls.

Tickets to today’s book launch are $10 at the door, but RSVP is required by calling 310.586.1111.

Upper West Restaurant is located at 3321 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
