The Santa Monica Museum of Art is holding an essential goods drive today, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to benefit the women of Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC) –the largest and most comprehensive provider of housing and services to low-income and homeless communities on the Westside.
The workshop, Cause for Creativity: What a Girl Wants, What a Girl Needs, is an opportunity to make art and make a difference with this annual Thanksgiving initiative to collect essential products for homeless women from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Participants in the workshop will learn to make tote bags from recycled t-shirts, which will then be used to carry donations to Ocean Park Community Center.
Snacks, drinks, and fun provided.
The workshop is $5, but free for SMMoA members or for anyone who donates new or used clean tshirts.
Santa Monica Museum of Art is located at Bergamot Station G-1, 2525 Michigan Ave.
