The second annual Buy Local Expo will be held this Saturday, March 31, on the Third Street Promenade after rain forced the event to be postponed earlier this month.
The Expo will be at the same time and place as originally planned on March 17 – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Third Street Promenade – and feature more than 80 local exhibitors and food booths, interactive activities, and live music and entertainment on two stages.
Performances and classes will be held at the WholeFoods stage at Wilshire and the Santa Monica Place stage at Broadway and will include martial arts, ballroom dance, fencing, fitness, Zumba, and musical acts.
Mayor Richard Bloom, along with business and city officials, will declare it official Buy Local Weekend on the Whole Foods Stage at Wilshire at 3:45 p.m.
The Sidewalk Sales at participating retailers on Main Street, Montana Avenue, Pico Boulevard, Ocean Park Boulevard and in Downtown Santa Monica, will also be held this Saturday.
Get “caught with your receipt showing” to be entered into a raffle for some great Santa Monica prizes.
People can take their receipts from any purchase on the day for a free raffle ticket at one of the entry box locations from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at both Expo stages, Edgemar Center for the Arts at 2437 Main Street and Whole Foods on Montana (15th & Montana).
Raffle prizes will be announced at the Expo stages. The grand prizes will be announced from the Whole Foods Stage at Wilshire at 3:45 p.m. (winners need not be present).
