Santa Monica police are investigating a homicide that occurred at 3:25 a.m. earlier this morning at Archstone Apartments, located at 425 Broadway Street in Santa Monica.
SMPD Sgt. Richard Lewis said officers responded at 3:25 a.m. after receiving a call of a woman screaming.
“Officers responded and found a deceased male white, early 20s in the living room who had received several stab wounds,” Lewis said. “The suspect was detained a block or so away and is in custody.”
He said there was a party in the complex and the male suspect and the victim knew each other.
The suspect is being interviewed by robbery homicide detectives.
