The Santa Monica Red Cross chapter will hold a car wash fundraiser in its parking lot this Saturday, Aug. 18 to raise funds for a local disaster response campaign.
It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1450 11th Street (at Broadway) in Santa Monica.
Volunteers will hand wash and vacuum cars for $10 and trucks and sport-utility vehicles for $15. Fresh baked goods, snacks, and beverages will be available at the car wash for donations of $1 to $3.
The latest environmentally-friendly practices and sustainable materials will be used during the washing process to make sure vehicles are cleaned without harm to the environment.
All proceeds from the car wash will benefit “PrepareSoCal” — the three-year American Red Cross, Los Angeles Region, disaster response campaign to create more resilient communities that are better equipped to help each other prevent, prepare for and respond to life-threatening disasters.
The American Red Cross of Santa Monica is a publicly supported, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides health and safety education, youth services, CPR and first aid training, disaster awareness and disaster relief efforts.
