A 22-year-old homeless woman who crashed into a vehicle in Parking Lot 4 South was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 30 after assaulting the driver during a heated argument over the damage of the car.
At 6:11 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the parking lot at 2030 Ocean Avenue in order to investigate what they understood to be trouble of an indeterminate kind.
When they arrived the officers spoke with the two people who had been involved in a verbal altercation that had led to a battery incident.
The officers learned the victim was driving his vehicle inside the parking lot when the suspect, a female, had crashed into his driver’s car door while she was conveying down a hill upon her skateboard, causing considerable damage.
The suspect and victim had begun to argue over the damage and during the argument the man had taken the female’s skateboard and informed her that he was going to hold it until the police arrived.
The suspect responded by trying to take some personal property from him, and when he prevented her from doing, she spat in his face.
The officers interviewed the female and during the course of the interview, she gave the officers false information.
She was then placed under a private person’s arrest and was charged with assault, battery, and providing false information.
Bail for this homeless woman was set at $20,000.
