The Santa Monica High School Girls Varsity Cross Country team won the Ocean League title for the first time in ten years beating Beverly Hills by one point with Alice Wasserman setting a Santa Monica High School course record at Kenny Hahn Park Saturday, Nov. 3.
The Boys Varsity Cross Country team placed second.
Vikings Cross Country Head Coach Tanya Fischer was proud of the Santa Monica High School Cross Country team for their accomplishments.
“It is the first time in ten years that the girls have won,” said Fischer. “Our boys varsity got second and both JV teams and the freshman boys won.”
Alice Wasserman of the Santa Monica High School Cross Country team set a new Santa Monica High School course record with a time of 19:48.
Next race for the Vikings is in the CIF-Southern Section Divisional Prelims at Mt. San Antonio College Saturday, Nov. 10.
