Mary Louise Bowman passed away March 28, 2013 while visiting family in Philadelphia, PA. She was a lifelong resident of Santa Monica, having moved to Santa Monica with her parents during the great depression. She was born Jan. 1, 1924 in Auburn, New York.
She attended Santa Monica High School and worked at her parent’s grocery store on 14th and then as a nursery school assistant until her retirement. She is predeceased by her husband Asa M. Bowman a California Army volunteer killed in WWII, her parents Joseph & Angelina Rich, brother Ralph Rich and sister Ida Miller.
She will be missed by her Son Robert Bowman and daughter-in-law Carolyn of Webster, NY, Granddaughter Karen of West LA, Grandson Cory Bowman and wife Theresa Simmons and great grandchildren Ava Rose, Sage and Reese of Philadelphia, PA and sister-in-law Rita Rich of Culver City.
A service will be held at Santa Monica Woodlawn Cemetery Monday, May 6 at 10 am.
She will be laid to rest along-side her husband, parents, and brother.
