Pacific Palisades resident and Director of The Broad Stage Dale Franzen has been named to the Honorary Committee for the dedication of Caroline’s L.O.F.T. (Leonetti O’Connell Foundation Theatre) at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA).
The committee also includes renowned Angelenos Burt Bacharach, Placido Domingo, Frank Gehry, Sherry Lansing, Shirley Maclaine, Ginny Mancini, and school alumnus Josh Groban as well as LA County Supervisors Gloria Molina, Mark Ridley Thomas, Zev Yaroslavsky, Don Knabe, and Michael D. Antonovich.
The dedication will take place today, when the new multi-use theatre at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts will be named in memory of Caroline Leonetti Ahmanson (1918-2005) who co-founded LACHSA in 1985 with Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
A foundation overseen by her daughter Margo Leonetti O’Connell has generously matched a grant from the State of California.
This significant financial donation was used to fully equip the theatre.
Grand-daughter Cara Leonetti Esposito continues the family tradition as an active member of the Arts High Foundation Board.
Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, School Principal George Simpson, Laifun Chung, President of the Arts High School Board of Directors, and Marcia Wilson Hobbs, long-time board member will be presenters at the dedication ceremony to be emceed by Kristin Cruz, who is co-host of KOST FM’s morning show.
