The Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica has chosen the winners of its annual Outstanding Academic Student Awards.
Six high school students and eleven Santa Monica College students were evaluated on academics, leadership and community service for the $21,500 in scholarships.
The high school winners are Michaela Maxwell from New Roads School, from Santa Monica High School winners were Zaire Overton, Victoria Hatakeyama, Natasha Janfaza, and Bronte Burnett.
Eleven winners came from Santa Monica College, they are Nicole Andrews, Adin Dzumhur and Sierra McDonald, Jilla Arastehmanesh, Nicholas Soegono , Devyne Carr, Woon Chiao, Virginia Gonzalez, Keshia Nash-Johnson, Rosalina Rosales, and Elena Yeroushalmi.
Awards will be celebrated with family and friends at a special luncheon on June 12 at the Sheraton Del Fina Hotel.
