Bail was set at $50,000 on Saturday, June 22 for a woman charged with domestic violence after scratching her boyfriend in the face during an argument and causing him to bleed.
At 4:25 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to an apartment complex in the 500 block of Raymond Avenue in order to investigate a fight between a man and a woman.
When the officers arrived they saw a woman exiting the apartment, and then discovered a man inside.
The man was bleeding from his face, and had several fingernail scratch marks to his face.
The officers began to ask questions and it was revealed that this pair had been in a dating relationship for several years, and that on this date the woman had returned home in a state of intoxication.
Shortly after her return an argument ensued.
The boyfriend declined to tell the officers how he had sustained the injuries to his face, however, based upon other witnesses statements, and the officers’ professional experience, it was therefore reasonably suspected that the intoxicated woman had inflicted the injuries.
The officers arrested this 25-year-old Van Nuys resident was charged with domestic violence.
