Santa Monica-Based Phelps Agency Adds Seven Digital Specialists:

Santa Monica-based integrated marketing communications agency Phelps recently added seven digital specialists to its interactive discipline arsenal.

From strategic and creative development to programming and search engine optimization, Phelps’ interactive specialists manage clients’ online campaigns, social spaces and websites.    

Arun Lalam, web developer, brings over three years experience in web development, coding and design. Lalam has previously worked as a software engineer for clients 7-Eleven Fuel, Conoco Phillips, 76 and Valero. Lalam will be working with Phelps’ Public Storage client. He graduated from USC with a Master of Science in computer science.

Hasina Hai, web developer, was a software developer for 18 years prior to joining Phelps. Hai brings extensive experience in both website and app development and back end programming. Previously at Kurtzman Carson and Consultants (KCC), Hai worked on the Bank of New York, Mellon account developing financial applications servicing the business sector and foreign exchange banking. Hai currently serves on the Public Storage and SoCal Gas accounts. Hai graduated from Hunter College with a B.S. in computer science.

Jessica Lee joins Phelps as an SEO specialist with a track record of leading successful SEO campaigns. Most recently at The Search Agency, Lee brings skills in keyword research and analysis, maximizing traffic growth and website development to Phelps’ Public Storage and Tetra Pak clients. Lee holds a B.S. in computer science from Scripps College and a Masters of public policy degree from the University of New South Wales.

Joe Kubiniec, information architecture/ user experience,  brings more than 15 years experience in product, interaction and user experience design to Phelps as a user experience designer. His past work includes earning a patent for Microsoft – to winning an Appy Award for the National Hockey League “NHL Game Center” app. Kubiniec will be driving design initiatives for Public Storage and SoCal Gas. He earned a B.F.A. in film and video studies from the California Institute of the Arts.

Jonathan Orosco joins Phelps as an interactive producer, piloting digital initiatives for SoCal Gas. Orosco previously worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies such as Disney, Stanley Black & Decker and UCLA on public-facing initiatives. Orosco holds a B.A. in art from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Michael Steele joins Phelps as a web developer. He previously worked at Velvet Hammer Branding on the Procter & Gamble, Walmart, De Marini and Family Movie Night accounts. With six years experience in website and app development, Steele currently builds and maintains websites and micro-sites for Panasonic, Monrovia and Public Storage. Steele graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.F.A. in graphic design.

Shane Brouse, interactive producer brings more than 17 years production and project management experience. Previously at Palio+Ignite, Brouse worked with eight of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, producing impressive work recognized with CLIO Healthcare and Webby awards. At Phelps, Brouse manages interactive and print projects for Public Storage. Brouse holds a sociology degree from Carleton University and a computer information systems degree from the Foundation for International Services.
