Sunset Park Residents Donate 1,750 Pounds Of Food For Thanksgiving Drive:

The 5th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive coordinated by local realtors

The residents of Santa Monica’s Sunset Park neighborhood came together on Friday, Nov. 8 to donate more than 1,750 lbs of food in the 5th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive coordinated by local realtors, Scott Price, Janice Hou, and Alexis Bernacchi of P+H Real Estate.

Hou said that the homeowners know exactly what to expect.

“Brown paper bags were fanned across Sunset Park (compliments of local grocer Yummy.com) at the beginning of the week,” Hou said. “Filled bags of food were left outside by the Sunset Park residents on Friday and viola – they’re picked up and dropped off at the Westside Food Bank by P+H Real Estate.”

She said the P+H Real Estate crew organized four additional volunteers to help comb each street for bags of food.

“Some are left on the porch, others at the top of the driveway,” she said. “It’s an adventure and surprise to see which residents choose to participate.”

Every year, a few bags are missed, so patient homeowners can call Hou and Price so not a single bag is missed.

For next year’s drive, they are hoping to gather more than 2,000 lbs of food… all in the spirit of “thanks and giving!”

Hou can be contacted at 310.980.2848.
