Santa Monica police arrested a homeless man on the beach on Friday, Nov. 7 after a lifeguard spotted this 43-year-old with his pants down and masturbating.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called to investigate a case of indecent exposure at Santa Monica Beach at 2:35 pm on this day. Apparently the suspect had been spotted by a lifeguard who was situated at Tower 26.
The lifeguard had been scanning the beach with his binoculars when he chanced upon the suspect.
The suspect had his penis in his hands and was gratifying himself in full view of the patrons of the beach and also anyone who may have been passing by in a boat in the ocean.
The lifeguard had immediately summoned the assistance of other lifeguards, as well as the Santa Monica Police Department Harbor Patrol.
Upon arrival the officers spotted the suspect who had not yet completed his act of self-gratification so they interrupted and arrested this man of no fixed abode and he was charged with indecent exposure.
Bail was set at $10,000.
