Meals On Wheels West Clients To Receive Special Valentine’s Day Cards Friday:

Some of the cards filled with personal loving messages from teens throughout the Los Angeles area.

Hundreds of Meals On Wheels West clients will receive special hand written Valentine’s Day cards this Friday.

DoSomething.org and MentorUp.org are spearheading a national Love Letters campaign which has been encouraging teens to create Valentine’s Day cards to be distributed to seniors through the Meals On Wheels national network.

Meals On Wheels West in Santa Monica received more than 400 beautiful cards filled with personal loving messages from teens throughout the Los Angeles Area.

Chris Baca, Executive Director of Meals On Wheels West, said its volunteer delivery program bridged the generations every day.

“The distribution of Valentines Cards is one more way we reach out to our neighbors,” Baca said. “It is wonderful that DoSomething.com is encouraging teens to participate in ‘off line’ activities like connecting to people through crafting beautiful cards. None of the cards were made on the computer they took time and effort and demonstrate real caring and creativity!”
