Homeless Man Arrested After Prowling In Santa Monica Home:

Bail was set at $50,000 on Sunday, March 9 for a 41-year-old homeless man for entering a Santa Monica residence and stealing a laptop charger.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Marine Terrace at 8:40 am on this day in order to investigate a person acting suspiciously and loitering around the yard area of a secured residential property.

Upon arrival the officers spoke with the tenant who had called the police. As they were searching the property they discovered that the suspicious person in question was still in the area.

The officers detained this person and noticed that he dropped an Apple device charger as they did so.

As they were questioning this suspect another neighbor arrived and said that she had seen this man the prior day.

She stated that she had been inside of her house breastfeeding her baby in the company of her other child when the front door opened and the subject had walked inside.

She said that she had yelled at the suspect to leave and that he had left but had stayed in front of her house standing on the sidewalk.

The neighbor told the officer that at that time she could see out of a window that the subject was telling her that he would return the laptop in return for some money.

She looked in the living room and noticed that her laptop was on the floor.

The officers asked her if she was missing the charger/adapter to her laptop. She checked and said that it was in fact missing.

The officers arrested this homeless man and he was charged with burglary.
