A Santa Monica-based company is hoping to help people be more fashionable through its polarized, wayfarer-style sunglasses that incorporate a unique hinge design that allows for easy interchangeability of the sides.
Known as Sets, the brand recently launched its pre-order sales on Indiegogo that ends on Sept. 11.
Before Sets, co-founder Jeff Buettin was a tech entrepreneur. His stepbrother Brandon came from a background in retail management. Growing up, they always knew that they wanted to start a business together. When they realized how dissatisfied they were with the current sunglasses market, they saw their opportunity.
And so Sets was born.
Sets brands itself as “interchangeable, premium sunglasses,” which they back up by their lifetime guarantees.
Buettin says seriously, “We will never sacrifice quality of our products as we grow.”
However, the pair are not alone in this venture. Along with their friend Chris, and their manufacturing partner in China, Sets is hoping to open a new market for affordable sunglasses.
For $40, backers can receive one pair and an additional pair of interchangeable sides.
Their goal is $15,000, and they hope to add even more color options once this goal is reached.
