Chicken chain’s new restaurant on the Third Street Promenade marks its latest Southern California expansion.
Raising Cane’s will open its new Santa Monica restaurant on June 10, according to signage posted outside the location at the corner of Third Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.
A sandwich board outside the restaurant announces the opening date for the fast-food chain’s newest location at 1401 Third St., a prominent corner site adjacent to the Third Street Promenade.
The opening follows the company’s announcement last year that it planned to bring its chicken-finger-focused restaurant concept to downtown Santa Monica as part of a broader expansion across California.
The Santa Monica restaurant occupies a highly visible location near one of the city’s busiest pedestrian shopping and entertainment districts. Company representatives previously said the location would feature a design tailored to the coastal character of Santa Monica.
Founded in 1996 by Todd Graves near Louisiana State University, Raising Cane’s has grown into one of the nation’s largest fast-food chicken chains. The company’s menu centers on chicken finger meals served with crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and its signature Cane’s Sauce.
The Santa Monica opening is part of the company’s continued growth in California, where Raising Cane’s has added locations across Southern California and announced plans for additional restaurants in the Bay Area.
