Visitors to a half-dozen city park areas will be able to access free public Wi-Fi beginning today as part of a pilot program.
The free service, dubbed “Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi,” is being backed financially by Toyota and will be available at designated hot spot” areas at Cabrillo Beach, Echo Park Lake, Griffith Observatory, Pershing Square, Reseda Park and Venice Beach.
In conjunction with the pilot project, the city’s Department of Recreation and Parks will also introduce a mobile website, m.laparks.org, that park visitors can use to make service requests that will go directly to the department’s construction and maintenance division.
