A 53-year-old Long Beach resident was arrested in Santa Monica on Friday, Oct. 24 after dropping his pants and exposing himself to a bank security guard.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the area of Fourth Street and Wilshire Boulevard at 11:45 am on this day in order to investigate the report of a man who had been “acting erratically.”
The officers had been informed that the man had been striking a bus bench with a wooden stick. Upon arrival the officers located the suspect and asked him why he had been striking the bus bench with the wooden stick.
The man said that he hadn’t intended to hurt anyone, but that he was simply practicing for an important movie audition.
As the officers were conversing with this man a security guard who worked at One West Bank, located at 401 Wilshire Blvd., approached them.
The security guard told the officers that the suspect had, a few moments earlier, caused a disturbance in the courtyard adjacent to the bank.
The security guard added that when he had asked the man to leave the man had yelled profanities at him and had then removed his shorts in order to display his flaccid penis at the security guard.
The officers then asked the security guard if he wanted to have the man prosecuted for showing him his flaccid penis, to which the security guard responded in the affirmative.
The security guard signed a private person’s arrest form and the officers arrested this 53-year-old Long Beach resident for indecent exposure. Bail was set at $10,000.
