46 Traffic Crashes Reported Tuesday On Rain-Slick L.A. County Freeways:

Forty-six traffic crashes were reported today on rain-slick Los Angeles County freeways in the six-hour period beginning at midnight, the California Highway Patrol reported.

During the same period a week ago, when it did not rain, 12 traffic crashes were reported, the CHP reported.

The CHP did not immediately release accident figures for Tuesday.

Specific numbers were not immediately available for Orange County, but generally the number of crashes at least doubles on a rainy morning compared with a non-rainy morning, a CHP officer said.
