A 49-year-old Los Angeles resident was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 18, after violating a restraining order while in Santa Monica.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the 1200 block of 12th Street at 8:30 am in order to investigate a report of a violation of a restraining order.
Upon arrival the officers spotted the suspect standing in front of the building looking suspicious.
The officers approached the suspect and detained him whilst they investigated and confirmed the validity of the restraining order with the victim.
The officers determined that there was a valid restraining order in effect that prohibited this man from being within a certain distance from the residence while the resident was present.
The resident wished that the subject of the restraining order be arrested for the violation so the officers obliged and this man was arrested and charged with violation of a restraining order.
Bail was set at $20,000.
