International Tennis Hall of Fame members Pete Sampras and Jim Courier will be part of the four-player field for the inaugural PowerShares Series SoCal Honda Dealers Helpful Cup March 25 at Galen Center, organizers announced Tuesday.
The field will also consist of 2003 U.S. Open men’s singles champion Andy Roddick and James Blake, who reached a career-high ranking of fourth on the Association of Tennis Professional rankings during his 14-year ATP career.
The one-night event will consist of two one-set semifinal matches, followed by a one-set championship match.
“It’s a hyper-condensed tennis tournament,” the 44-year-old Courier said. “It’s high-energy, there’s no down spots, it’s all action. We get a champion in about 2 1/2 hours.”
Tickets start at $30 and all ticket and VIP information is available at PowerSharesSeries.com.
