“Avengers – Age Of Ultron” was atop the heap at the North American box office again today, and it has grossed $875 million around the world so far.
The Disney/Marvel movie was on track to deal $77.2 million domestically this weekend, for a two-week running total of $312.9 million, according to industry estimates collected by Rentrak.
A female buddy comedy, “Hot Pursuit,” opened in second place with $13.3 million in estimated sales.
And an adult drama, “The Age Of Adeline,” was in third place in its third week of showings, with a weekend gross of $5.6 million. It has taken in $31.5 million so far.
Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies, in the U.S. and Canada this weekend, as reported by the studios and collated by Rentrak, were “Furious 7” ($5.3 million), “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” ($5.2 million), “Ex Machina” ($3.5 million), “Home” ($3 million), “Woman In Gold” ($1.7 million), “Cinderella” ($1.6 million) and “Unfriended” ($1.4 million).
