Apartment Fire In Brentwood; Man, 70, Suffers From Minor Smoke Inhalation:

A 70-year-old man suffered minor smoke inhalation during a fire today at an apartment building in Brentwood.

Paramedics transported the man, who was in good condition, to an area hospital, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:53 a.m. to 11836 Mayfield Ave. had the fire out within 17 minutes of their arrival, Stewart said.

Fire damaged one unit on the second floor of the two-story structure, she said.
