Emergency Protective Order Granted To Santa Monica Woman After Threats From Ex:

Latest police, crime and courts news.

This case began back on June 27, 2015 when officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the 1800 block of Ninth St. in order to investigate a report of threats being made.

Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim who told them that she had been involved in a dating relationship with the suspect.

She added that she had called the suspect on that day because she had decided that (following an incident earlier that month in which the suspect had punched her) she wanted to terminate the relationship.

She said that upon hearing from her that she wished to end the relationship the suspect had become enraged and had threatened to call child protective services and have her child taken away from her.

She continued to say that several threatening texts and voicemail messages had been sent to her by the suspect throughout the morning and that the intensity of these threats had increased during the afternoon to the point where the suspect had told her he would consider shooting the victim, her father and her child.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1:20 am this victim contacted the police in order to request an Emergency Protective Order, and said order was furnished to the victim.
