Cops Bust Man, 19, For Exposing Himself On Santa Monica Beach: Alert Police Blotter: Busy Hands.

Latest Santa Monica Police Department news.

A 19-year-old Los Angeles man was busted after exposing himself to passersby on Santa Monica Beach.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 2:33 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were on patrol in the area of the Santa Monica Beach when they received a report of a man in his 20s who had allegedly been seen exposing his genitals to passersby.

The officers located this suspect as he leaned up against a tree in the 2400 block of Ocean Front Walk.

The officers noticed that this suspect was dressed in baggy shorts that exposed his undergarments.

The officers began to speak to the suspect and were in the middle of taking down the suspect’s information when a victim approached the officers and told the officers that this man had earlier been walking to and fro in front of people with his hands down the front of his pants while he “played with himself.”

This victim signed a private person’s arrest form and the officers then arrested the 19-year-old Los Angeles suspect and he was later charged with indecent exposure and a probation violation. Bail was set at $10,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of The Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
