Guido Germano faces up to three years in prison

A 59-year-old Santa Monica man who is the director for a division at Cedars-Sinar hospital has been charged with distributing and possessing child pornography, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office (DA) announced July 31.
According to Paul Eakins, Public Information Officer for the DA, Guido Germano has been charged with one felony count each of distribution of obscene matter and possession of child or youth pornography.
He is expected to be arraigned August 1 in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
Germano, who is the director of artificial intelligence medicine at Cedars-Sinai hospital, is accused of distributing child pornography videos using peer-to-peer software and downloading them onto his personal computer at his home, according to Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson of the Cyber Crime Division.
He was arrested on June 19 and released on bond. The case was filed on July 23.
The defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of three years and eight months in state prison if convicted as charged.
The case remains under investigation by the District Attorney’s Office, Bureau of Investigation.
