Michelin-Starred Santa Monica Restaurant Among Coachella Food Vendors

Rustic Canyon to be among dining options at upcoming music festival

By Dolores Quintana

Rustic Canyon Restaurant’s chef Zarah Khan will be part of the Coachella Music Festival’s Outstanding in the Field culinary program that celebrates local and global chefs who serve a full-service, four-course family-style meal on a specific day for both weekends of the festival. This event is in its eighth year and has become quite a prestigious event.

The festival sets up a large table in the VIP Rose Garden for this very special dinner experience and it is a fine dining tradition at what is normally a very casually glamorous music festival. The website for the event says of the chef “Zarah joined the celebrated, Michelin-starred Rustic Canyon as Executive Chef in October ’22 where her passion for vegetable-centric cooking is shared with the restaurant’s Chef and Co-Owner Jeremy Fox. The daughter of a Pakistani mother and German father, Zarah brings a deeply personal and unique approach to Rustic Canyon’s cuisine.”

The website adds, “Our exclusive, intimate area allows you to take refuge (and a seat!) at the festival while you break bread and mingle with other guests over a cocktail and several glasses of California’s best wine. The full-service, four-course meal is cooked by a myriad of local and global chefs that rotate each night. The events uniquely celebrate the rich agricultural landscape of the Coachella Valley and Southern California as we welcome to the table the farmers from the following local farms whose produce will be highlighted and featured on the evening’s menu: Coleman Farms in Carpinteria, CA, Sage Mountain Farm in Anza, CA, Aziz Farms in Thermal, CA.

You can purchase tickets here and to be able to attend, you must have passes for that weekend’s music festival.
