Homicide Investigation Launched After Woman Found Dead in Malibu

Detectives Looking for Leads as Cause of Death Remains Unknown

The Sheriff’s Department launched a homicide investigation following the death of a woman found in Malibu over the weekend, the LASD announced Tuesday, as reported by KTLA News.

According to officials, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a medical emergency call at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Westlake Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult female at the scene.

The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to a statement.

Officials have not disclosed the exact location along the miles-long stretch of Westlake Boulevard where the woman was found. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of death and are awaiting autopsy results.

“This investigation is ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
