Santa Monica is playing its usually-ambitious non-league schedule. After winning their first four games over Downey, Clovis, Fountain Valley and Canyon the Vikings lost to Valencia, 5-3 and Los Alamitos, 2-1.St. Monica is off to a 4-2 start. It was shut out by Venice, 8-0, and then had a shutout over Beverly Hills, 6-0.The Mariners then lost to Marymount, 5-0 and played Beverly Hills again, winning 13-3.Crossroads lost its first three games to Oakwood, Viewpoint and Paraclete, and then defeated Brentwood, 13-4.New Roads is 0-2 following an 11-4 road loss to Hillcrest Christian of Granada Hills.Brentwood lost to Marymount, 20-0 before losing to Crossroads, 13-4.Palisades defeated Washington, 10-4 and began Western League play with an 8-6 victory over Hamilton.Venice has had an unusual start to its season, losing four games and then winning the next four.The wins were over Sonora, 10-0, St. Monica, 8-0, Mayfield of Pasadena, 2-1 and Roosevelt, 4-0. No individual statistics have been provided.
