Strong Arm Robbery!Wednesday, May 7, 11:10 p.m. Officers of The Santa Monica Police Department received a report of a “strong arm robbery,” at the junction of 9th Street and Wilshire Boulevard. They sped to the scene of this robbery, and upon arrival the “victim” pointed them in the direction where these two scoundrels were last seen sprinting away with their booty (in this instance defined as goods or property seized by force or piracy, and not the slang term for buttocks). Officers quickly located one of these “strong arm robbers” and in doing so recovered the “victim’s” purse, that the suspect had taken. This suspect was arrested, and later booked for robbery. The other suspect is described as a male black, in his early 20’s and of medium build, so, if anyone has any information that could assist the police with their inquiries, then please call the Watch Commander (24 hours) 310.458.8427.* * * *Spit!Saturday, May 9, 3:00 p.m. Officers of The Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1100 block of Pico Boulevard in response to an assault with a deadly weapon, or, to be pedantic, two weapons. The “victim” told the officers that this assailant had spat on his person (weapon number one, the mouth?), and then had proceeded to attempt to strike the “victim” with a two by four board (weapon number two). Officers sprang into action, and located this person, along with the two by four weapon. The suspect was arrested, and later booked for assault with a deadly weapon (the two by four), and a probation violation.* * * *ASSISTANCE REQUESTED:UNIDENTIFIED FELONY HIT & RUN VEHICLEThe Santa Monica Police Department needs your assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle involved in a felony hit & run traffic collision. On May 11 at 1:50 pm, a 79 year-old pedestrian was run over and dragged a short distance in the private driveway of the medical plaza located at 2001 Santa Monica Blvd. After running over the pedestrian the driver continued into the parking structure of St. John’s Hospital and the medical buildings. The driver then left the scene without rendering aid or notifying the police. The pedestrian is currently in critical condition at a local hospital. The initial investigation revealed that the vehicle is described as a late model Infiniti or Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle, light gray or silver in color. The driver was described as a male, white in his 60’s with salt and pepper hair and a goatee. Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Chris Dawson 310.458.8954 or Sergeant Horn 310.458.8950 or the on duty Watch Commander (24 hours) 310. 458.8427.
