Veterans for Peace did a two-day memorial at Arlington West with a candlelight vigil on Saturday night, honoring Veteran’s Day which fell on Wednesday, November 11. They included the victims of Ft Hood in their memorial, with blue crosses & flag-draped caskets representing this week’s death toll, white crosses representing 1 dead, and red crosses representing 10 dead (as they are running out of space on the beach). The weekly memorial has been maintained by VFP volunteers every Sunday and on holiday weekends since February 2004. Nicole Hart, a member of the American Widows Project, visited her husband’s cross in the memorial on Saturday evening, along with other wives from the group. Sergeant David J. Hart was killed in Samarra, Iraq, on January 8.
