Four Samohi Players Earn Scholarships:

For the first time in Debbie Skaggs’ 23 years as the Santa Monica High softball coach four graduating seniors from the same team have earned a scholarship to a Division 1 school.

Shotstop Kaile Nakao is expected to sign a letter of intent this week with Hawaii. Catcher Emma Woo will sign with Tennessee Tech, outfielder Hayley Condon with San Jose State and pitcher Celisha Walker with New Mexico State.

The Vikings have won four straight Ocean League championships and gone several rounds in the CIF playoffs to be one of the most successful athletic programs at the school.

Despite the graduation of so many prominent players next season’s team is expected to be outstanding too.
