Crossroads, St. Monica Back-to-Back in Boys Basketball CIF Rankings: Xrds Ranked Third, St. Monica Holds Fourth

Crossroads boys basketball team is ranked third in the California Interscholastic Federation’s Division 5-AA while St. Monica is right behind in fourth in the preseason polls released by the CIF headquarters on Monday.

Crossroads (6-2) plays Sierra Canyon at 7 p.m. tonight at Grisanti Gym. St. Monica, 5-1 under first-year head coach Khi-Min Jung and coming off a 65-57 victory over Bosco Tech, will play Washington Prep in first round of the Seahawk Classic Tournament at Redondo Union High, which runs from Dec. 27 to Dec.30.

“It feels good, but we are concentrating on the Washington Prep game,” Jung said. “We have our team goals that we set forth at the beginning of the season and we are just working one day at a time.”

Brentwood occupies the top spot in the 5-AA division.
