The third annual Westside Business Expo will be held on Wednesday, March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Doubletree Guest Suites in Santa Monica. Produced by the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Alschuler, Grossman, Stein & Kahn, LLP, Brentwood Media Group, Custom Laser Center, Dougherty Laser Vision, Premium Financial Services, WESCOM Credit Union, and W.I. Simonson Mercedes-Benz, the expo is designed specifically for people who do business in West L.A. On the schedule for the half-day event is a series of sessions on sales and marketing, with the emphasis on building and managing businesses. Lisa Tyler, Vice President of Audience Research, MTV Networks, will speak at the keynote luncheon on “The Power of the Audience: How MTV Networks Stay Connected.” In addition, Bill Rosendahl, candidate for the L.A. City Council District 11 seat, former host and producer of public affairs programming for Adelphia Cable TV, now a professor at Cal State Dominguez Hills, will speak about integrating media usage into business. Conference sessions will include Jeff Hall, publisher, Brentwood Media Group, on “Breaking Through: How to Leverage the Media;” Larry Richard, Breakthrough Marketing, on “Innovate or Stagnate: The Future of Your Business Depends on It;” Jonathan A. Goldfill, The Growth Coach, on “Harness the Power of Leadership and Vision;” Kara Jaffe, Gevity Institute, on “Tips for Increasing Sales & Profitability;” Lisa Carmichael, Frontier Associates, on “Learning to Work in the 21st Century: Six Steps to Better Time Management;” and Wendy Barlin, CPA, on “Use Your Cash Flow to Grow Your Business.” “Our main objective is to help Westside businesses do more business,” said Kathryn Dodson, President and CEO of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce.
