SaMoHi To Host “The Beatles at Barnum” Friday Night:

The 1960s are making a comeback at SaMoHi this Friday night, Oct. 21. Well, sort of.

Acclaimed Beatles Historian Martin Lewis will be hosting “The Beatles at Barnum” at 7:30 p.m. at SaMoHi’s Barnum Hall.

Affectionately referred to as “the fifth Beatle,” Lewis will be reliving much of the band’s acclaimed past via anecdotal stories and a reprisal of several Beatles tunes, including “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Got To Get You Into My Life,” and audience sing-a-longs of “Hey Jude,” “All You Need is Love,” and others.

“We’re thrilled to have Martin Lewis as emcee for The Beatles at Barnum,” said Scott Ferguson, producer of the event. “He’s a world-renowned Beatles expert, a humanitarian, and a fabulous host rolled into one, and brings a personal Beatles connection to the performance.”

The Friday evening show is presented by Sir George’s Army, SaMoHi’s ward-winning Symphony Orchestra, and will highlight full orchestral arrangements, special guest vocalists, and instrumental performers.

As part of the festivities, attendees are encouraged to celebrate Halloween a little early and arrived dressed as their favorite Beatle, either as a Mod or a Rocker.

Lewis wrote and hosted a documentary entitled “Re-Meet The Beatles” and even produced “The Fab 40” to commemorate the 40 th anniversary of the British band’s first-ever visit to the United States. He has also “Beatles fan conventions in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles since 1992 and appears frequently on radio programs and television talk shows such as “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

General admission tickets are $20, and $10 for students, and can be purchased at the door or online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/204402.

All proceeds will be used to underwrite orchestral music programs at Santa Monica High.
